Back to the books

The Central Library’s interlibrary loans facility is going to get busy for a while! This week I picked up Alastair Minnis’s useful book Translations of Authority in Medieval English Literature. Although I’m dealing with the adaptation of a story from Anglo-Norman to Middle English, the book has been thought-provoking, especially its insights into the belief in the ‘virtuous heathen’ arguments in the Middle Ages, and I have been reaquainting myself with writers I worked on years ago, such as Reginald Pecock.

An afternoon of medieval linguistic matters and an evening of Richard III, what more could anyone wants?
