Adventures in Anglo-Norman

My own research is now taking me into new (to me) historical territory, and that’s really interesting, but it’s also taking me back into the margins of early drama, which is lovely. It’s not that there’s any likely relationship between the Boeve poem and later drama, but there are issues around sponsorship and textuality that the contexts of early drama, especially that in Norman France (topics I haven’t looked at for a long time), that may help with the historicising of the poem. At present, historicising is taking a great deal of time, but there is a whole new range of texts, some of which I can access through local Libraries and at least one I have bought. Time to rearrange my book shelves!
