Back to work

The Easter weekend marked the imminent arrival of a writing dealine, and the struggle to finish the current piece continues, but looking forward to the time when it will be behind me and I can get back to Boeve (the Anglo-Norman version of Bevis) properly, I have at last taken the plunge and invested in Judith Weiss’s translation, which is so much quicker than reading Stimming’s edition, and usefully corrects his characteristically 19th century editorial interventions.

However, the work I am currently doing intersects at many points with the Boeve research and has provided much food for thought, so I am really looking forward to getting back to the 13th century story.
