The translation of the Middle English text of Bevis of Hampton which I have been working on for 2 years is complete as a first draft. Work on the 2-part commentary is progressing. This will cover significant medieval contexts as represented in the poem (Part 1), and the echoes of the poem to be found in the major works of J.J.R. Tolkien (Part 2).
The structure of the intended book has given me sleepless nights, but it seems to be working now – she said tempting fate!
